Hey there! Happy belated Friday to you. I just got in and was out all day doing what I can to build up a client list for tutoring. I have no idea who I will sell my essay to and won't even worry about it until I am done with the thing. Tomorrow I am hanging out with friends. We're having a small party for Holloween and I suspect we'll just hang out drink a few beers and jam a bit on the guitars and pretend we're rock stars singing The Monster Mash too many times for any given night even if it is Holloween. I hope you have a a fun and scary time tomorrow.

Reaching 666 comments is a milestone even if it does come with biblical implications. It was unavoidable to reach that number once you reached the 600 mark on comments. Fortunately it is also unavoidable that you would surpass it and it would be nothing more than a blip. I prefer the cold over heat, but since I developed sciatica, as is probably the same for you, the cold weather brings with it pain. Now I am torn between enjoying balmy weather and suffering the pain that comes with it. Oh well...tutoring has been slow but writing busy. How is your day?

Trying new things is good and learning new things about oneself is even better. It is funny what you said about being too connected to the internet or technology. I recently was talking to a friend that compared the internet to a box that had the inside walls painted with a big blue wide open sky. It appears to be a world of unlimited freedom but in the end can wind up being a tiny little box that traps the user inside of it. I thought that was a pretty astute description of what the internet can be. Hope your Tuesday is going well.

It was sort of frustrating as I have come to rely upon the internet for research purposes and was unable to do much in the way of research all weekend long. It is sad and tragic, but this seems to be the situation. I have no problems with the existence of public educational systems or even public health care facilities as long as those systems do not in anyway abrogate or derogate the rights of individuals. If parents want to home school their children and they want to rely upon curriculum's not approved by any state they have the right to do this. If supporting public education means denying these parents their rights then I do with draw my support of the public institutions in favor of rights. Rights, in the end,...

Yet, as I pointed out earlier, many parents who home school must fight the state in order to enjoy their right as parents to teach their own children. Empowering governments to create these Byzantine legal systems and bureaucracies is not the answer. We as a people have abdicated our responsibility and voted to create a wealth redistribution center, so that we as people don't have to accept any responsibility for the problems in this land.

There have been several versions of this bill that have attempted to make it through legislation and not one of those bills is less than a thousand pages long and the current bill being crafted is more than 1,500 pages long. What kind of law requires thousand of pages of verbiage in order to be passed? Is it any wonder that the average person has no understanding of the law? There are plenty of people in this country who do not want anything to do with this so called "health care" plan being debated and if it is a right of the people to have health care what that means is that no one person can impose their right upon another that would disparage the other persons right. I used to struggle with "insomnia" but have since learned that, at least for me, insomnia is a disorder caused by attempting to live by schedules not of my own creation or agreement. When I am in agreement with the schedules I keep I sleep far better than when I am unhappy with the schedules I have agreed to. Okay, I will stop ranting now. How are you?

Sorry, I get a little heated when I think about how bad the indoctrination gets in what are supposed to be the revered halls of academia. Teaching my clients to understand that finding the truth of any given situation requires far more than absorbing data and memorizing the expected answers so that they may correctly answer test questions, yet also understanding that sometimes it is necessary...

The correct answer is that no other constitution in the world acknowledges the people as superior to the government, nor does any constitution outside the U.S. Constitution acknowledge that inalienable rights preexist government and can not be granted by governments. Further more, this class keeps referring to the U.S. as a democratic system which is just outrageous given that...

Thus, when a question arises such as what is the single greatest factor distinguishing the U.S. Constitution from all other Constitution and it is asked to be answered in a multiple choice form the answer expected is obviously, "that it can be changed." However, this is demonstrably false! Anyone paying attention to recent history in Iraq understands that their constitution under Saddam Hussein has been changed to a new one. The tricky thing is first getting them to understand that it is all right to challenge the propaganda but then getting them to understand the politics of academia and that sometimes, in order to secure the A or B they want, they must be willing to answer the questions that are expected rather than answer them honestly. An example of that is a student I have in a class called Constitutional Law; it is clear that the professor teaching this class has a deeply ensconced progressive view of...

Happy Monday to you as well. The tutoring was fine this weekend. I have found that many students think they are in school to absorb and memorize facts. That this is somehow education. It is a frustration of mine because it is indicative of what is wrong with academia and clearly the teachers who are teaching are culpable for, at least, part of this problem. Of course, I shouldn't complain too much since the teachers own incompetence has made my own services and skills marketable. This trick with my clients is finding a way to break through the cognitive dissonance...

Hi there. It has been a good weekend and my friend is doing good. He is going back to work tomorrow so that is really good. He is still having some problems with sleeping but this is something that he is working on trying to get resolved. Hope you are having a nice weekend:)
JJ wrote on 10/17/2009 8:57:52 PM

Personally, I think sleep is overrated...that is, until I find I actually need the sleep. When life is stressful I find I need more sleep then when it is not. Stress is a drag. It is good you keep so busy, especially if you are having fun doing it. Production is the basis for morale! We are all very powerful beings and posses so much more potential than we fully realize. That is the journey we are all on, to realize our full potential and to create the beingness of we truly are. It sounds like you are well on your way. Have a blast getting there. Happy Sunday!

Well a belated good morning to you as well Leanne. It is good to be busy, no? Are you in school as well as working? My, what a busy little bee you are! I stayed up later than I should have last night writing but it was fun and I felt I made some headway. I am on break right now before my next student comes over to the office for tutoring. It is fun to watch these students make revelations and get past what ever hurdles they are struggling with in their classes. The breakthroughs make all the frustration worth while. Enjoy your Saturday, I will talk to you again.

I don't always tutor on the weekends and this semester has been slow for me so that I am actually as busy as I am this weekend is sort of a fluke. It's just that a few of my students are concerned about up coming exams and papers due so they wanted extra time in to prepare. Enjoy your weekend Leanne!

The essay on mythology is actually about how the word myth has become synonymous with falsehood's and in doing so has helped to further dumb down a populace who blissfully and ignorantly believe themselves to be sophisticated and well educated. nnI suppose the script I am working on is a drama, it is a play that I have attempted off and on through out the years but have struggled to make it work. Yep, I am still tutoring but business there has been slow, but the up side to that is it gives me more time to write! I am currently working on a script I am hopeful about and an essay on mythology I also hope to sell, I am having a blast writing both even if the money has slowed down for me. JJ wrote on 10/13/2009 12:39:40 AM

Hi Leanne, I hope my advice did help. In terms of being the best, don't let that get in the way of the discipline of writing. Micheal Jordan didn't always have 55 point games and missed more shots than he made. Kobe Bryant too! Not all of Shakespeare's play's were great. If a writer waits until inspiration comes that writer won't be getting much writing done. If you stay disciplined with it, when the inspiration comes you will be more skilled a better prepared to handle that inspiration. That's the trick, Leanne, just write, write, and then keep writing some more.

JJ wrote on 10/12/2009 3:22:01 PM

When most people are asked why Hamlet killed Claudius, they will often respond because his fathers ghost told him to do so for revenge. This is not true, as his fathers ghost told him to do so in Act I and there are four more acts that follow before Hamlet finally kills Claudius. Read that play and find out exactly why Hamlet killed Claudius and all that led up to that action and you will have a much better idea about working forward, backwards then forward again. Shakespeare is a great teacher to all writers as all his stories are carefully plotted and so well crafted.
JJ wrote on 10/12/2009 3:18:11 PM

Aristotle's observation may seem overly obvious but it is remarkably profound in its simplicity. It is in knowing the end and building step by step towards that end that makes good writers. Know how your story ends and get there. Once you've completed your first draft work backwards and eliminate all elements that distract from moving towards the end. Let every paragraph, sentence and if you can, every word be one more brick in the path to your end. Writing forward then backwards and then forward again is a helpful process in developing any well told tale.
JJ wrote on 10/12/2009 3:13:19 PM

...I don't agree that less is more and believe that less is less and more is more, but when writing for the stage or screen it is best to tell stories with pictures and that is often times more, not less. In terms of writing prose, I would suggest just write and keep writing until you find your voice. Don't worry about style as that will come with work, it is best to stay focused on substance. That is stay focused on the story. As Aristotle said in his classic Poetics, every story has a beginning, middle and an end and it is the end that is the chief thing of all!
JJ wrote on 10/12/2009 3:09:38 PM

Hi Leanne, I began writing plays years ago and that process is different than any prose type of writing which I have spent more time working on recently. The structure of a play is based almost entirely on the action written and the dialog of the characters. Of course, an old maxim in terms of plays and especially screenplays has been: If you can say it in a sentence good, if you can say it in a word better, and if you can say it without saying it all best. Some might confuse that with another maxim that states less is more. Out of space, I will continue...

So did it work? If not- e-mail me. There are just some inconsistencies with IE. I don't think that IE would normally affect with what I am doing but it is always good to try a different tool like Firefox. Firefox is more standards compliant.

If you notice, a bunch of people signed up yesterday as a result of the mixer. I will be personally promoting your company as a talk with the new members.

There are a couple of jobs that each of the companies have that they want me to interview so keep your fingers crossed. Hope you have a great weekend:)

It's more of a printing job. I take templates from different beer companies & place them on a background & send them to print for big banners. The company I work for uses CorelDraw software to do this.

What do you do for a living? I have a lot of friends that lives in San Gabriel so they are a lot closer to you. I can refer you business.
TheLawOffice wrote on 06/30/2009 12:17:42 PM

Yes, it's a boy. We named him Marcel Long. I should be due in about 4 weeks or less....business is slow for us too. We do loan modifications and short sales and it's been slow because we don't exactly process it. And all the business that comes our way require processing and negotiating of the loans which we don't want to do. We might just have to change our mind and start processing. If you have any family or friends that need help saving their home, we can help.
TheLawOffice wrote on 06/30/2009 11:52:25 AM
