Review Title: Cafe Bizou, Disappointed!
Reviewed By: Tobin Pociask

I have read all of the great reviews on MyCity and was really looking forward to lunch at Cafe Bizou- but was utterly disappointed. I had a business lunch on Friday and we decided to meet at Cafe Bizou. There is no offstreet parking and all of the meters were full, so I had to get my car valeted. We did not have a reservation, but thankfully the restaurant is pretty big. We were quickly seated and the waiter was very attentive. I ordered a cup of lobster bisque and the lamb sandwich. The lobster in the bisque was very fishy and not fresh. After the disappointing bisque I was hoping that the lamb would save my lunch. My lamb sandwich had some fatty unchewable pieces that definitely killed the meal. Although the staff was friendly, the food sucked!

Review Title: Cafe Bizou, Top 5
Reviewed By: Christopher Coffin

Cafe Bizou is easily one of my top 5 favorite places to eat in the valley. The food is great, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere is cozy. All this combined with a $2 wine corkage fee makes for a wonderful dining experience that you won't soon forget. When you arrive be prepared to park on the street or valet for a small fee. Reservations are also recomended (its quite popular).

Review Title: Cafe Bizou, Nostalgia

My family and I have been coming here ever since it has opened for two reasons - $2 corkage fee and fabulous food. Not much has changed in the 15+ years this place has been in existence. It is quaint, loud, and the ambiance/ decor reminds me of a French bistro on the streets of Paris. The owner is friendly as well. Speaking French here will go a long way. Every time I come, I attempt to speak French to the owner and he enjoys it thoroughly - he has even bought me a few drinks because of it. The food is flavorful and authentic; the deserts are my favorite part. Creme brulee and chocolate truffles are a hit in my family. No matter what you get on the menu, the price will be fair, and the food will be decadent and delicious. Did I mention a $2 corkage fee - need I say more!!!!!!

Review Title: Cafe Bizou, A French Kiss...Sweet and to the point (10+)
Reviewed By: Don Barnes

No other restaurant in Los Angeles offers such wonderful food at such low prices. The food in delic, the service is wonderful, love the $1.00 salad and low cork fee. we have dined at the cafe bizou for many years and have never been disappointed the food is exquisite and the ambiance and service is fine. French for "little kiss," Cafe Bizou is the restaurant equivalent of an unproven Hollywood ingenue who lands a small part, steals a scene and becomes a sudden sensation. When it opened in 1994, the original Sherman Oaks location became so popular so quickly that reservations were required weeks in advance. Quickly, the notoriously LA-centric culinary crowd deigned to make a trip over the hill for a look-see. In a city of fickle tastes, this French provincial bistro has garnered unanimous raves with its superb gourmet fare and unpredictably petite prices. Now there are three Bizou restaurants in Greater Los Angeles, but none has the charm of the original Ventura Boulevard location, which has the bucolic air of a French country cottage. What's not to like about a restaurant that flaunts some of the best appetizers and entrees in town -- steak au poivre in brandy cream sauce, roasted pork tenderloin rolled in garlic and herbs, lobster and salmon ravioli in lobster sauce -- all under $20? Throw in a miniscule corkage fee ($2) and it's no wonder dining surveys rank Cafe Bizou consistently at the top of the list for most popular restaurant in LA.

Review Title: Cafe Bizou, Sunday Night and Lots of People Eating
Reviewed By: Paul Cheesman

Very unassuming restaurant. Looks small from store front, but elegant dining rooms inside. Very good service. I had the Monk fish - excellent. They have a full bar, excellent martini, and nice wine list. It's is moderately priced and there were several families with teenagers, a few children, all seemed to be enjoying themselves. At eight O'clock on Sunday evening the place was packed. A real great neighborhood restaurant for all of Los Angeles.

The Monk Fish is great. This is the poor man's lobster. Cafe Bizou is one of the most reasonable priced restaurants around with great food.
